THE MAYOR, THE FIZZ & THE RIBBON
After a wonderful Smith Street Party, our formal opening with the Mayor of Warwick and many hours grafting on the new website, the Peeli crew took a little time out. But before we talk trips, let's take a look back over big launch.
After weeks of glorious sunshine and 28 degree days, the weather forecast for the Smith Street Party wasn't looking great. Good old British weather. But dear Mother Nature did us a solid and managed to hold back on the downpour until mid afternoon. So blessed with blue skies and a bit of a blustery wind, we kicked off.
We were joined for the day by our new friend Diane Maybey - a local Therapeutic Consultant, Artist, Published Author and Academic. Diane introduced us to Molly Olly's Co-Founder Rachel (read more here) and is to thank for our recent partnership with the charity. We've since been collaborating with Diane on a range of rather big and exciting new projects (news on those coming soon) here at Peeli HQ. Diane helped us to raise awareness and funds for Molly Olly's at the Smith Street Party as well as greeting passers by with her lovely smile and fantastic sketches...
Around midday we were joined by close friends, family, customers and our good friend Richard (aka the Mayor of Warwick) who was on hand to snip our big red ribbon and sample the celebratory fizz, kindly supplied by our neighbours at The Roebuck. To mark our official step into something people call adulthood, we were presented with a plaque to mark the date of our official opening. Here we are being extra smiley..
We then invited the good folks of Smith Street into Peel to take a peek at our newly refurbished studio. It seems our Dani is a bit of a dab-hand at custom desk design...
Who'd have thought it?!
With live music just outside, delicious food and drink from the fab cafes and bakers of Smith Street, great company, lovely customers and funds raised for Molly Olly's - our first ever Smith Street Party was a great success. Even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits!
After a very busy few months, our Phil took some time out to enjoy the sun, sea and a bevvy or two with his family in the south of France whilst Dani went mountain hunting in the Highlands. We're thinking of turning some of her snaps from the road trip into Peeli prints. Which do you think we should go for?
You can check out more of her pictures over on Wild Type's Instagram page.
Thanks to everyone for your support over the last few months and at the party. We look forward to seeing your Peeli creations soon. Head on over to our Custom Uploader to get started.
